Young but strong

BEST, Board of European Students of Technology, is an organisation of students from technical universities from all over Europe. BEST was founded in 1988 with the purpose of strengthening the bonds between students, universities and industry on an international level. At the same time, it was to assure the awareness of the questions and the problems that Europe technology students might face and create important contacts for future cooperation on science and culture. The students' intention was to get to know each other and in that way learn about other cultures and other people's way of thinking.

By students for students

The whole organisation is entirely run by students. In this way, BEST spreads in Europe a spirit as well as an international understanding among its future engineers and enable to connect them with universities and companies.

Shrinking Europe

Every six months, a BEST General Assembly, GA, or Presidents' Meeting, PM, are arranged. Representatives from each LBGs meet there to evaluate output and to launch and discuss future projects. Internal events are then organised during all the year to work and improve these initiatives. During the GA, which is BEST's highest decision-making body, a board is elected to coordinate the work on a global level. LBG ENSAM with the collaboration of every French LBGs, organised one of the last GA in 2002.

BEST organises different activities during all the year :

Learning Events

The main activities organised belong to the academic part. They last between one and two weeks and deal with a technical subject. You will not only improve your technical skills since the social and cultural experiences take also an important parts in the courses.

Events on Education

IBS (International BEST Symposium) are seminars that last for about 4 days. They gather engineering students and professors from Europe with the purpose of evaluating and finding new paths for higher engineering education in Europe.

Competition

Engineering Competition is an event where teams of students use their technical and non-technical skills to compete in different categories: Team Design, Case Studies, Debate etc.

Leisure Events

BEST also organises non-academic activities such as sailing weeks, ski-weeks, extreme sports. These courses have a fee and have no academic part. Only fun, fun and fun! To get more info
